# Authentication & Account Setup

> Learn how to authenticate and set up your Reach account

## Account Authentication

Reach uses email-based authentication. When you sign up, you'll receive a verification email to confirm your account.

### Signing Up

1. Enter your email address
2. Create a secure password
3. Check your email for the verification link
4. Click the verification link to activate your account

### Signing In

Use your email and password to sign in to Reach. If you forget your password, use the password reset feature.

## Profile Management

Access your profile settings from the user menu in the top-right corner of the interface.

### Profile Settings

* **Email**: Your account email (cannot be changed)
* **Full Name**: Display name shown in the interface
* **Avatar**: Profile picture (if available)

### Password Management

You can change your password at any time from the profile settings page.

## Organization Membership

If you're invited to an organization, you'll see an organization switcher in the top navigation bar.

### Organization Roles

* **Owner**: Full access to all organization features and data
* **Admin**: Can view and manage all organization data
* **Member**: Can only view and manage their own data

### Switching Organizations

Use the organization switcher to switch between organizations or your personal workspace.

  Your personal workspace is always available, regardless of organization membership.

## Security Best Practices

1. **Use Strong Passwords**: Create passwords with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols
2. **Enable 2FA**: If available, enable two-factor authentication for additional security
3. **Regular Updates**: Keep your account information up to date
4. **Logout**: Always log out when using shared computers

## Account Recovery

If you lose access to your account:

1. Use the password reset feature on the login page
2. Contact support if you need additional assistance
3. Provide verification information to recover your account
